Il commento dell’assessore ai Servizi Sociali
FASANO – “Le immagini di quanto accaduto ieri sera nella nostra Pezze di Greco parlano da sole. Acqua e terra sono entrate nelle case di molte persone creando disagi non indifferenti. Ho visto gente disperata e spaventata e gente che con grande dignità ha tentato di portar via il fango dalle proprie abitazioni, uffici e negozi” ha dichiarato Angela Carrieri, assessore ai servizi sociali.
“Ma ho anche visto tante persone accorrere in aiuto del proprio vicino: uomini che, facendo squadra sono riusciti a liberare la strada dalle auto impantanate, giovani che, armati di racchetta, hanno fatto il giro delle case dando una mano a chi non riusciva a buttar fuori l’acqua che nel frattempo aveva invaso le mura domestiche; ho visto famiglie – prosegue – aprire le porte della propria casa e accogliere altre famiglie (con disabili e anziani) che altrimenti avrebbero trascorso la notte in macchina per l’inagibilità della propria abitazione.
Oggi, il sole splende, la paura è andata via lasciando il posto a sentimenti contrastanti: la rabbia per quanto è accaduto, ma anche la riconoscenza verso tutti coloro che avrebbero potuto rimanere a casa a guardare e riguardare i video sull’inondazione e invece hanno preferito indossare gli stivali e portare conforto a chi stava vivendo il dramma.
Questo è il paese che vorrei”.
